Dr. Minott Pruyn received his DVM degree from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. He has been practicing at the Pruyn Veterinary Hospital since that time. The practice was started by his father, Dr. Earl Pruyn, in 1949. Dr. Pruyn is a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology (AAVD). He is credentialed for Stem Cell Orthopedic Therapy from Vet-Stem Regenerative Veterinary Medicine. An active member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Dr. Pruyn currently serves as a member of the AAHA's Accreditation Awareness Committee. Locally, Dr. Pruyn was voted "Best Veterinarian" by the Missoula Independent in 2008, 2009, & 2010. The practice was also voted, “Best Veterinarian Clinic/Hospital in 2012 & 2013 by the Missoula Independent. Dr. Pruyn and his wife Jan, have three children and one grandchild.
Dr. Shoni Card received her DVM degree from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She has been with the Pruyn Veterinary Hospital since that time. Dr. Card is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) from the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her veterinary interests include avian and exotic medicine, rehabilitation, and chemotherapy cancer treatment.
Dr. Paul Schaumberg received his DVM degree from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. Dr. Schaumberg has been at the Pruyn Veterinary Hospital since 2003. Prior to that time, he was the sole proprietor of the Kootenai Veterinary Hospital in Libby, Montana, for 23 years. He also practiced for two years in Pocatello, Idaho. Dr. Schaumberg is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Montana Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA). Doctor Schaumberg enjoys a variety of outdoor recreation. He and his wife Cindy, have two daughters, three dogs, and one cat.
Dr. Lindsey Rewinkel received her DVM degree from Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She also has her BS degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the Eastern Washington State University that she received in 2009. Dr. Rewinkel joined Pruyn Veterinary Hospital in 2013. Her Veterinary interests include Ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. She enjoys horseback riding, hiking, camping and has two dogs named Malo and Shae, two cats named Owen and Lima, and a horse named Darby.
Dr. Vicky Pickart received her DVM degree from Minnesota’s University of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She also has her B.A degree that she obtained from the University of Montana in 1981. Dr. Pickart joined Pruyn Veterinary Hospital in November of 2013 and brings with her over 21 years of experience as a veterinarian, but also as a previous private practice owner. She is affiliated with the Old Ladies Cross Country and Skiing organization as well as the Just Us Ladies Kayaking and Floating organization. Dr. Pickart shares her home with her partner Connie, four cats, and their new dog “Dillon”.
Dr. Jayson Longoria received his DVM degree from Texas A & M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. He worked his first year as a veterinarian in a small animal clinic in western Washington until he transferred to our practice in December of 2013. Some of his interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He participates in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Missoula organization. Dr. Longoria enjoys fishing, hunting, horseback riding, prospecting, and doing other great outdoor activities with his wife Crystal. They share their three dogs named Munster, Chico, and Nugget, their two cats named Jovi and Cole, a ball python named Katrina, and a bearded dragon named Rex.
Dr. Jessie Lake received her DVM degree in 2013 from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also has her Bachelors degree in Biochemistry from the State University of New York-College at Geneseo. Dr. Lake has been with Pruyn Veterinary Hospital since March of 2014. Her veterinary interests include general medicine, ophthalmology, and ultrasonography. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and cross country skiing.
Dr. Samantha (Sami) Thomas received her Bachelors in 2011 from the University of Montana Western in Dillion, Montana as one of the top graduating females and a recipient of the Zella K. Flores Award. She received her DVM degree from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Her veterinary interests include animal behavior, nutrition, and surgery. Sami is native to Deer Lodge, Montana and can play a mean came of pool. She loves being back home so she can enjoy spending time with her family, skiing, hiking, and hanging out with her two dogs Frank and Indigo.
Dr. Aurora Lambert will be joining the practice in July upon receiving her DVM degree this spring from Saint George's University. More information about Aurora will follow once she arrives and gets settled in.
